In the world of there's an activist organization known as CURE that pushes for the humane treatment of the living impaired. If only CURE realized just how much fun it can be to maim, behead, or otherwise massacre hordes of brain-craving zombies. Very little has changed since the release of Dead Rising more than four years ago, but the most important thing that has stayed the same is the thrill of being set loose in a town overrun by mindless monsters. Slice your way through these moaning monsters to save survivors, dispose of dangerous psychopaths, and uncover the terrible truth that could change everything. Unfortunately, along with the good elements that made the original game a beloved hit come the same quirks that will cause you to occasionally stumble.
Frequent load screens break up the fine pacing, control blemishes make precision difficult, and the driving controls are lousy. But the core of this game is so outrageously, savagely entertaining that it's easy to look past these missteps.
Dead Rising 2 is a unique and engaging experience that is difficult to pull away from and eminently replayable. Chuck Greene has found himself in an awful situation. His young daughter was bitten by a zombie a few years back and requires a daily dose of the wonder drug Zombrex to prevent her from turning into one of them.
But just as pressing as his family issues are the legal troubles swirling over his head. Zombies are now a controlled menace in society.
Lord Ruby
People who are unfortunate enough to be infected are locked away so they can't go around chomping on necks willy-nilly. But someone has unleashed a horde of undead monsters into the gambling town of Fortune City and framed poor Chuck Greene in the process. The story in Dead Rising 2 is a lot more personal than in the first game.
You have to continually hunt for more doses of Zombrex to keep your daughter alive while searching for the truth that will clear your tarnished name. It's a situation that makes Chuck an immediately sympathetic figure, and his caring demeanor is a welcome reprieve from the abrasive star of the previous game, Frank West.
The story does a fine job of embracing stereotypes from zombie movies. The cast of characters, including a volatile security officer and sultry news reporter, have an over-the-top acting style that makes it enjoyable to see what ridiculous thing will spew from their mouths next. It's a tongue-in-cheek approach that never takes itself too seriously. This sense of humor is pervasive in the game, and best exemplified by the wacky wardrobe you have access to. During your time scouring Fortune City, you find a wide assortment of outfits to change into, and your fashion style is carried over to the cutscenes.
This may seem like a small feature, but it makes the story so much more enjoyable. The mood during these cinematics is usually bleak and overly dramatic, but when Chuck Greene struts in wearing a servbot helmet and a Hawaiian grass skirt, it's difficult to keep a straight face. That effervescent creativity bubbles over into the combat. The biggest addition to Dead Rising 2 is a crafting system that lets you combine certain objects to create gloriously over-the-top weapons.
You can duct tape a machete onto the end of a push broom, affix a machine gun to the arm of a robotic bear, or light your boxing gloves on fire with a spurt of motor oil. It's a fantastic and ridiculous system that gives you a plethora of goofy ways to vanquish your undead attackers. The combinations are preordained, so you don't have the freedom to create whatever wacky ideas you have in your head, but there are plenty of unique gadgets to go around. You can create these special weapons just by tinkering in tool sheds until you come up with something that works, but to unlock their full potential, you have to earn combo cards. You get these cards by leveling up, killing psychopaths, reading posters, or rescuing survivors, and they not only supply the recipe, but they also give you access to its special attack.
This forces you to scour the environment and complete objectives, so you have to work to take advantage of the best weapons instead of just using them from the beginning of the game. Dead Rising 2 Download PC Game The structure that made the original Dead Rising so hectic has survived the transition unchanged. Even though you have the freedom to roam as you please in this open-world adventure, an in-game clock serves as a perpetual reminder to move on to your next task. Every objective begins and ends at a specific time, and if you can't complete it, it disappears. In the case of optional activities, such as rescuing survivors or killing psychopaths, there's little repercussion for failure. But if you forget to give your daughter her medicine or can't finish a primary storyline objective, that entire plot thread disappears forever.
You can keep playing if you want, and there's even a special ending to commemorate your inadequacy, but to finish things off the right way, you have to start all the way back at the beginning. It's a punishing system that can serve as a stomach punch for the uninitiated, but it's also the driving force behind this unique experience. The threat of failure is always hanging overhead, and it pushes you to act quickly and make smart decisions. Dead Rising 2 is slightly easier than the original, so you shouldn't have too much trouble reaching the conclusion as long as you stay focused; just don't expect any hand-holding. Starting over in Dead Rising 2 isn't nearly as lousy as it sounds. Chuck levels up by completing certain activities, and your experience stays with you in perpetuity. There's a huge difference between the slow-footed, weak man you start the game as and the virile Adonis you become when you reach the level cap of 50.
So even if you stumble and have to start over, you're so much more capable the next time through; thus, the whole experience is much easier and more fun as well. In addition to earning boosts to your core attributes, you learn martial arts maneuvers. Jump kicks, power bombs, and elbow drops are just some of the deadly moves you unlock, which makes dispatching undead foes efficient and fun. Pulling off these fancy skills is a lot more intuitive than in the original game.
Before, some of your moves required you to click the stick while pushing a button, which was downright clunky in the heat of battle. But now, your techniques are mapped to the face buttons and triggers, so you won't fumble around as much. Controlling Chuck works just as well if you opt to use the keyboard and mouse combination, though it is disorienting to shake the mouse to toss zombies off of you. Unfortunately, the higher-level skills are not quite as interesting this time around. You can't disembowel zombies or perform a German suplex, and the replacement moves aren't nearly as flashy. Still, the upgrade system in Dead Rising 2 does a fine job of dangling a carrot until you reach the summit.

The goal of this was to reduce clutter, increase client and server performance and give players a more rewarding experience. Double Cosmic Loot - Many of you know that we have had Double Cosmic Loot, a specific perk of the Cosmic Chaos event, active for a while. This has now been turned off and will only return during that event.
Loot tables have been adjusted accordingly to ensure that players still feel rewarded for playing the content. Experience Orbs - Much like Cosmic Hightown Patrol, we have replaced the existing XP orbs with a smaller amount of “larger” orbs dropped by Bosses. The XP amount amount has been tuned slightly down, about 1.5 times of the original CMM XP. This allows us to continue to do Double Cosmic Loot for Cosmic Chaos without the XP gain to be unbalanced. Higher Quality Items - Players will see far less uncommon/rare Insignias and Team-Up items from bosses. Additionally, All “Tier 1” lower level, non Boss Artifacts have been removed from the Boss loot tables. Cybernetics - The amount of Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Cosmic items that drop in Cosmic Midtown Manhattan Patrol has been unchanged, allowing players to continue leveling pet cybernetics as they have in the past.
Danger Room Scenarios - Only Epic and Cosmic Danger Room Scenarios will drop from Bosses in Cosmic Midtown Manhattan Patrol. Cosmic Reliquary of Rarity - Players will see far less uncommon/rare Insignias and Team-Up items from bosses. Additionally, All “Tier 1” lower level, non Boss Artifacts have been removed from the Boss loot tables. Cosmic Jackpot - Cosmic Jackpot contents have been updated with Cosmic Reliquary of Rarity.
New Rare Credit Item - Only Epic and Cosmic Danger Room Scenarios will drop from Bosses in Cosmic Midtown Manhattan Patrol. Events - The following events will drop the following items per boss in Cosmic Midtown: Midtown Madness - 2 Boxes (Normal Midtown will drop 1), Cosmic Chaos - 2 Caches (Normal Midtown will drop 1), Odin’s Bounty - 2 Boxes (Normal Midtown will drop 1) Cosmic Industry City Patrol has had the following changes:. Experience Orbs - XP amounts have been normalized on a per-boss basis across all 3 patrols. Odin Boosts - Adjusted how Odin Boosts work in Cosmic Industry City Patrol to increase the amount of marks given to players using the boost to be more uniform across all patrols.
Cybernetics - We have increased the amount of Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Cosmic slot 1 through 5 items that drop from Bosses that players use to level pets in order to better match Cosmic Midtown Patrol. Cosmic Reliquary of Rarity - Cosmic Reliquaries have been added to the shared loot table, replacing the current Epic version. Cosmic Hightown Patrol has had several changes made to bring several aspects more in line with other Cosmic Patrols.
Experience Orbs - XP amounts have been normalized on a per-boss basis across all 3 patrols. We have adjusted Boss Trios to drop the equivalent of 3 Cosmic Midtown Patrol bosses worth of XP.
Loot Drops - We have adjusted drop rates for the non Boss Specific items on Boss Trio loot tables to now account for the loot table rolling 3 times in order to grant 3 Bosses worth of XP. Cosmic Jackpot - Cosmic Jackpots have come to Cosmic Hightown!. Odin Boosts - Adjusted how Odin Boosts work in Cosmic Industry City to increase the amount of marks given to players using the boost to be more uniform across all patrols. Cybernetics - We have increased the amount of Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Cosmic slot 1 through 5 items that drop from Bosses that players use to level pets in order to better match Cosmic Midtown Patrol. Repeat attempts will only track your best time, so feel free to run it as many times as you like to see what your best time is! At the end of the week, rewards will be awarded based upon your best placement.
The Tournament Leaderboards will open at 12:00 PM PDT, April 8th! Item & Crafting Changes Scaling Element Drop Technology - New technology has been added that allows higher amounts of elements to drop depending on a player’s level.
These elements will drop in a single stack rather than individually. Increased Boss Item Drops - There is a new shared loot table on all end game bosses that contains all Boss-Specific artifacts and uniques. STAMINA To go along with the Daredevil Event, this patch brings with it a design update for Daredevil himself!
Stamina is similar in mechanics to Power Cosmic or Solar Energy in that it always regenerates, but has a higher regeneration rate. It will automatically regenerate to full within a few seconds of being empty, so there's little to no downtime when playing Daredevil. Stamina has no 'single target spender', and his basics are tuned with less of a penalty compared to most. Stamina is strictly spent on rotational powers, Finishers, or area clearing abilities that may not be tied into the Combo point system. Daredevil's basics also quickly help Stamina to restore back to full (even faster than it's already quick regeneration rate). Logitech speakers z-640 software. MARTIAL ARTS Staff Strike and Nunchuck Beatdown have received new animations.
These two, along with Assault and Battery, have also received new affixes to make them better suited at filling particular roles. Apprehend now generates 2 Combo Points, making it similar to Sliding Strike - a cooldown-based Combo Point generator that generates them faster than the basics. Sliding Strike and Devil's Due move into the Martial Arts tree to solidify the tree as 'things that generate Combo Points'. Apprehend and Sliding Strike Area of Effect size increased. Both powers now have an 8 second cooldown. As mentioned above, Stamina is structured to allow for 'basic' attacks to be the core single target powers, and as such, Triple Strike has been removed from Daredevil.
The long animation for this power has historically been a problem in regards to Daredevil's ability to evade attacks, so sticking to his faster basic animations will allow him to cancel out of a combo quicker. FIGHTING FOCUS Radar Sense, Devil of Hell's Kitchen, Relentless Justice, Enter the Void, and Born Again have all been compressed into two passive/active powers. Since most of the powers in Fighting Focus have been compressed, we needed to redefine what existed in the tree.
Fighting Focus is now 'all powers that do not gain or spend Combo Points', including Action Roll, Rebounding Club, Club Sweep, and two new powers. Rebounding Club now holds up to 2 charges and applies Vulnerability. Heroic Leap is now a level 1 power and does not scale with power points. Club Sweep Area of Effect size increased. NEW - Cable Swing - Daredevil has gained a new Travel power, using the grappling hook within his batons to swing around.
This power has functionally replaced Swinging Assault, as it is a more reasonable and realistic manner of how Daredevil would get around an area with differences in elevation. NEW - Relentless Justice - Stealing the name from a former passive, this new mobile area clearing power has been added to Daredevil. While channeling, Matt wades through enemies while skillfully manipulating nunchucks in a constant flow.
The new Radar Sense is located in the Fighting Focus tree, and contains all defensive affixes. The 'ping' that occurs when Combo Points are full no longer applies normal vulnerability, but instead causes the next Finisher or Tornado Kick to deal massive damage against that target. The power can also be activated to cleanse and become immune to crowd control. Radar Sense's specializations change up Daredevil's playstyle regarding combo points: Combo Fighter - Specialization if you like Daredevil's current rotation and playstyle as-is. Adds a%-based damage bonus to Finishers, and a%-based damage bonus to Tornado Kick. Drawn-Out Brawl - Specialization if you like the concept of combo points, but find the rate of gain too quick to manage. Makes gaining combo points slower, but massively increases the damage dealt by Finishers if they are used at maximum combo points.
Choose this specialization if you want to see Finishers deal massive damage in exchange for using them a bit less frequently. Street Fighter - Specialization if you do not like combo points and would prefer a more 'standard' rotation. Combo Points are removed entirely, and finishers become standard cooldown layers. All finishers are treated as though you had 5 combo points in this specialization. Choose this if you were not a fan of Combo Points and would prefer to manage cooldowns instead. ACROBATIC PROWESS As with the other trees, we wanted to take this opportunity to reorganize his powers in a way that makes more sense to players seeing Daredevil for the first time. Acrobatic Prowess now contains all Finishers, as well as the 'Finisher Finisher', Tornado Kick.
The new Devil of Hell's Kitchen is located in the Acrobatic Prowess tree, and contains all offensive affixes located in previous powers. If activated, it consumes combo points to create a buff effect, which is determined by a specialization choice. You can opt to go with the familiar Born Again and consume combo points to heal yourself, or change that to be a defensive or offensive steroid instead. Jumping Strike now has a higher Critical Hit Chance per combo point spent. In addition to the leaping club-to-the-face animation, the power now has variance and can trigger an alternate animation inspired by Marvel's Daredevil series. Whirling Club is no longer a channeled power, and has been added to Daredevil's Finisher list.
It can still be used with no combo points, but will be more responsive as a single animation power. If you find yourself mostly playing in high area content, Whirling Club may be the Finisher option for you. It's Stamina cost is reduced with each combo point spent. Treet Sweeper still remains as another Area finisher, but offers a higher defensive value in its built-in invulnerability state. Tornado Kick (formerly Spinning Hook Kick) has no Stamina cost in the new world, making it a powerful free damage source, and always delivers a Brutal Strike. This power has also received a new animation inspired by Marvel's Daredevil series. Daredevil Event To celebrate the launch of the second season of Daredevil on Netflix, we are having a Daredevil themed event!.
Free Playable Daredevil - Log in Saturday or Sunday to get a FREE Daredevil hero token!. Server Side Bonus Experience - 200% Bonus Experience to celebrate Season 2 through 11:59 PM Pacific on Monday 3/21! 100% Bonus Experience through 11:59 PM Pacific Thursday 3/24. Both events will be active when servers come out of maintenance on Friday, March 18th until 11:59 PM Thursday, March 24th. Midtown Bosses Leaderboard A new leaderboard has been added for the most Boss defeats within Midtown Patrol & Cosmic Midtown Patroll. Compete with your friends to see who can take down the most Supervillains in Midtown before the day is over!
Rewards are earned both for participation and for earning some of the top spots on the Leaderboard before it closes. This leaderboard will only run on Mondays while Midtown Madness is active. Once Midtown Madness ends, the leaderboard will end and remain closed until the following Monday.
